Elevating the Experience

The rebranding project for 107 Fourth Avenue Wine Bar was designed to enhance the bar's visual identity and establish a cohesive brand image that appeals to its target demographic. Located in Ottawa’s Glebe neighborhood, this wine bar caters to Ottawa locals aged 19-45 who appreciate a mature, comfortable setting for socializing. With a focus on creating a brand that communicates the class and charm of the establishment, the rebranding strategy centered on updating the bar’s presence to reflect its upscale, community-oriented appeal. The new design needed to incorporate versatility, allowing seamless application across digital platforms and print media while embodying the bar's inviting yet refined ambiance.

Tasteful Transformation

One of the main project goals was to design a logo that captured the essence of Fourth Avenue Wine Bar in a distinctive, visually compelling way. The previous branding was minimal and generic, relying solely on a beige background and text. After exploring various sketches and concepts, the logo was finalized to include an empty wine bottle and a full wine glass—symbols representing the essence of a relaxing, extended experience at the bar. The bold New Nord typeface was selected for its clean, strong character, creating a sense of sophistication and stability. The stacked type layout offered additional flexibility, enabling it to function across digital and print materials like posters and social media graphics.

Tools & Techniques Behind the Design

This rebranding process incorporated Procreate, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe InDesign, all of which allowed for a polished and professional outcome. Procreate was initially used for sketching concepts and exploring visual elements related to wine culture. Adobe Illustrator enabled precise vector rendering of the logo and other graphical elements, ensuring scalability for different applications. Finally, Adobe InDesign was instrumental in designing print materials, creating a consistent brand presentation across various mediums including a brand guideline book. This rebranding gave Fourth Avenue Wine Bar a refreshed and cohesive identity, effectively positioning it as a must-visit destination for Ottawa locals seeking an elegant social setting.
