This personal project was created in celebration of my grandparents’ 50th wedding anniversary. Since 2011, they have spent part of each year in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina—a place my grandfather fondly calls his “happy place.” I wanted to give them a meaningful gift, especially to show gratitude for their unwavering support in my graphic design education. Drawing inspiration from the boardwalk near their home, I incorporated a palm tree and enhanced the colours to evoke the vibrancy of their surroundings. The vintage golf cart at the center symbolizes their marriage; it dates back to the 1950s, marking 50 years together, and represents the support they’ve provided to our family. The typography draws from vintage beach posters in their home and the classic surf shops in the area, adding a nostalgic touch to honor their love and shared memories.
